Getting back on a roll...

Still have none of the money I'm due and still struggling financially, but I'm starting be be able to find the time to write again. Not that I have been posting a lot here recently. Quite to the contrary, I have been quite quiet on here, because I'm waiting to be able to settle debts and get myself a little financial breathing room for a while before I'll be able to completely destress and relax like I need to be able to to find the time, the motivation and the freedom of writers block that I need to really write more than a couple hours a day, and often that time gets spent on emails when that's all the time I can find. Recently I've been more able to get past some of these limitations and been putting in some decent periods on writing when I can find the time and don't need a bit of gaming time or reading time, or following my favorite TV shows time that fills what limited time I can find lately. When I'm destressed and motivated, I can do some of these and write at the same time, because I become more able to multi-task.

What I've most recently worked on is different sections of source material on the Clashlands setting, though I've also put together some sections of source material on another setting I have been milling over in concept and notes forms for about half the time I been working on Clashlands, but don't think I've really mentionned here before.

The sections I've actually finished first drafts on lately have been sections on such things and languages and setting details for the Clashland setting, but have also been working on sections about the races, magic, other setting details, and so on. Most of what I'm working on now is the parts that wont be opengaming licensed and shared freely on the web through this blog, but will be found in what PDFs I eventually publish. When this does eventually get finished, it will be in 3 parts: The Clashlands setting Player's Guide, the Clashlands setting GM's Guide and the mostly Open Gaming core rules that I am currently calling Dystopian Destinies Role Playing System, and will be my offshoot of the d20 system core rules. I may put out other settings for it, and if the system gets any sort of a following, would easily consider licensing to others that want to write their own setting source material for it. Writing for Clashlands I would want final editing and approval rights on, because it's my baby.

The other setting I've less talked about and is more recent is my dystopian future setting and it would be coming out in two or three books. If it's two books, it will be because I decided to release Dystopian Destinies as an any genre system and not a fantasy-centric system I am currently itending on and made the new setting fit the system. If I go with what I am planning, myself, I'll being doing it with my own RPG system, TAGE, because I'll get around to finishing it up. This other setting would be called Aquarius Dawning and would take place on a near future, early space age setting that would have low tech space sci-fi, cyberpunk and superhero elements and be placed on an earth teetering on the edge of global changes like a bunch of bad predictions all coming true around the same time. It would be a mutation rich, new age of enlightenment, world in environmental turmoil, overpopulated, cyberpunk slums and corporate fascist environment. The two books it would be released as is the setting specific rulebook and general source material and the first, starter campaign and GM setting information for the game.

Anyway, I just felt I should touch base after having just finished another section of and a few partial sections of source materials on a successful period of getting some writing done tonight. I'm letting myself get back into my natural sleeping cycle lately, which is actually a night owl existence... I tend to wake up in the afternoon and get tired around sunup, which in these short pacific northwest days as we aproach the winter solstice makes me feel like a vampire. Right now, I'm wrapping these writings for the time being, as I am starting to get a bit tired and will be winding down to crash, and until then getting something to snack on and focusing on something that takes a bit less concentration. Something like reading or watching streaming video through my Netflix account.

Yup, that's an ad you will eventually see going up on this site, once I have enough regular readers to justify filling out an application with them, but I'm not working on actually advertising this blog or any of my other sites until I am getting close to publishing something. Just not sure, yet whether I will first publish what I've already talked about above, a year or so down the road, or if I'll publish independent 3.5 alternative rules that will be low priced portions of my DDRPS system that are both setting independent and would be easily adopted into other 3.5 core rules without having to swallow my whole depression ideas of a kick-ass RPG system.
